Clinical Workstation Network

The Clinical Workstation network (also known as Public Workstations) is comprised of 5,000 computers distributed throughout clinical areas mainly the Johns Hopkins Hospital at East Baltimore but also at Green Spring Station, White Marsh, and nearby Outpatient Centers throughout the region. These devices are acquired and supported by IT@JH to support the clinical information needs of thousands of medical staff.

Clinical workstations provide access to key medical applications, such as EPIC, Sunrise, EPR, Pharmacy, UltraVisual, HMED, ORMIS, QS and a range of other clinical host systems as well as web-based applications.

Since 2005, the Clinical Workstation environment has grown 300% in numbers and has added around 3000 wired and wireless devices to support bedside documentation for a number of clinical applications.
