SSL Certificate Services with Comodo

The InCommon Certificate Service, created by and for the higher education community, provides unlimited SSL/TLS and client certificates.  This includes unlimited Organizational Validation (OV) SSL/TLS certificates, Extended Validation (EV) SSL/TLS certificates, client (or personal) certificates, and code-signing certificates.  Comodo is the certificate authority Incommon contracted with for the SSL certificates.

What Certificates are supported?

  1. SSL/TLS Certificates
    1. Organizational Validation (OV) SSL/TLS Certificates
      • includes wild-card and subject alternative name certificates
  2. Client Certificates
    1. Standard Assurance Client Certificates
      • three key usage types: signing-only, encryption-only, and dual-use

Johns Hopkins pre-registered domains supported by Comodo

Incommon Comodo certificates must be registered to Johns Hopkins under its non-profit charter. A domain must be pre-registered with Comodo before a certificate for the domain will be accepted by Comodo.
