Migrate to Outlook Live

Outlook Live is a new email service offered to Hopkins students that will replace JHEM for Hopkins student email services.  Outlook Live offers a 10GB mailbox (the standard JHEM mailbox size is 100mbs), 5GB to shared collaborative workspace, 7GB to online secure storage and other features you would expect to find in a modern email system.  Freshmen students for many of the Hopkins schools were included in Outlook Live when they arrived last year.  We are now ready to include existing students who currently have JHEM mailboxes.

The Migration process will allow students to transition from JHEM to Outlook Live.   By requesting an Outlook Live mailbox your JHEM mailbox will be disabled in the near future.

Overview of Migration Process:
  1. Request an Outlook Live mailbox thru the portal.
  2. Accept the Outlook Live Terms of Service.  Your Outlook Live mailbox will be created within 2 hours.
  3. Perform the First-Time Login process for Outlook Live with your new Windows Live id and password.
  4. Update Security Information for Self Service Password Resetting.
  5. Migrate mail  from JHEM to Outlook Live with the Outlook Web App if desired.  Calendar items can not be migrated and by special request JHEM contacts can be available for migration.
