Accessing your Johns Hopkins Outlook Live Account with a Mobile Phone
Your phone must be running either Windows Mobile 5.0 or a later version or be compatible with Exchange ActiveSync. Mobile phones that aren't compatible with Exchange ActiveSync can only access e-mail messages through POP3 or IMAP4.
Windows Live ID
To connect your phone to Outlook Live you will need to enter your Windows Live user id and password. This is different than your JHED login id and password.
Your Windows Live id is your Johns Hopkins "Login id@live.johnshopkins.edu".
For example if your Johns Hopkins login id is jsmith99, your Windows Live id would be jsmith99@live.johnshopkins.edu.
Exchange ActiveSync
The exact steps required to set up your mobile phone for Exchange ActiveSync may vary, but these generic steps will assist you in setting up your mobile phone for Exchange ActiveSync.
On your mobile phone, launch the Exchange ActiveSync application or the phone's mail application and choose Exchange ActiveSync or Microsoft Exchange.
Enter your Windows Live userid and password - LID@live.johnshopkins.edu
Enter the Exchange ActiveSync server name - m.outlook.com.
Finish setting up your account.
Microsoft has detailed information about accessing your e-mail on a mobile phone at http://help.outlook.com/en-US/140/ms.exch.ecp.EmailOnMobilePhone.aspx?r=ia&s=EDU_I_Own_Hybrid_E14_R4

Apple iPhone/iPad version 3.0
The Apple iPhone and iPad running software version 3.0 requires you to use an alternate server name. To find that server name, sign in to your Windows Live account at the following address: http://outlook.com/live.johnshopkins.edu. After you sign in successfully, the address you entered will resolve to an address that contains the server name you need to use. For example, if the address resolves to https://pod51000.outlook.com/owa, enter pod51000.outlook.com for your server name.
