Supported Mobile Apps for JH Services

 Pulse Secure: For VPN (Free)

Pulse Secure is a remote access application for smart phones and other mobile devices that could be used to access Hopkins’ internal sites and resources when not on the Hopkins’ network. The Pulse App is available for Apple’s iPads and iPhones in the iTunes store and for Google’s Android devices in the Androids Market Place.

Please contact the Help Desk at (410)516-4357 for additional support, if you encounter issues when using Pulse as a SSL VPN solution to access Hopkins internal resources.

VMware Horizon View client: For HVD access (Free)

Virtual Desktops are a blend of new technologies that Client Technology Solutions (CTS) has implemented in clinical areas that use Sunrise Clinical Documentation. Virtual Desktops behave just like normal computers except they reside in a secure data center instead of residing on your unit. Since there is no physical workstation associated with a Virtual Desktop, you have the ability to access your Virtual Desktop from any Public Workstation or CTS-provided netbook.

  Skype for Business (Formerly Lync): For JH Instant messaging (Free)

Johns Hopkins Instant Messaging (JHIM) offers a secure, internal Instant Messaging solution that can be used to collaborate among people within the Johns Hopkins community. JHIM uses Microsoft's Skype for Business Server, and offers advanced capabilities beyond text-based IM including voice and video communications, and desktop sharing. The supported client software to access JHIM is Microsoft Skype. Like most popular IM clients, the JHIM supports "presence detection" which can help determine if contacts are available through the use of status indicators such as "available", "away" or "in a meeting."

 Citrix Receiver: For JH Cloud Apps (Free)

Virtual Applications (CloudApps) are applications hosted in the datacenter on a Citrix Server. The application can appear anywhere the Citrix Receiver is installed (iPad, Laptop, Desktop, Home PC, etc.).

 Office Mobile Applications: (Free) 
 
In addition to having access to Microsoft Office on your PC and any Web Browser, users can now access, edit, and create Office 365 documents through iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile devices.

To get started, simply download the desired office product (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, etc) from your device's app store, sign in using JHEDID@jh.edu and JHED Password. Upon signing in, the application will automatically connect with your Johns Hopkins OneDrive.

JHBox: Cloud-based file sharing and file storage service (Free) 

Johns Hopkins Box (JHBox) is a cloud-based file sharing and file storage service which enables people to collaborate and share information and can be accessed through any device: desktop, laptop, phone, or tablet.

JHBox makes it easy to upload content, organize files, share links to files, and manage file and folder permissions. With JHBox you can collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside the Institution anytime, anywhere, from any device. In addition, accounts offer an ample 50GB of document storage space.
