Purchasing Eligibility and Title Availibility

SPARS makes many software titles available to JHU affiliates at Volume/Education pricing. Software title availability is determined by your university affiliation. To see what software is available, log into SPARS and click Search.

Please be advised that anything you see in the main catalogue is for DEPARTMENTAL use only!!! Titles available for work at home can be viewed/purchased under the 'Work at home' link. None of the software listed in SPARS is for personal use. Please contact us for personal use software.

For many software titles, SPARS sells licenses and installation media seperately to lower costs for customers who require several licenses. To learn more about the different license types available through SPARS, please read the FAQ.

Purchasing How-To

Purchasing software through SPARS is easy. Follow these steps:

  • Log into SPARS.
  • Search for the software you wish to purchase.

  • Click Add to Cart.

  • Repeat until you have selected all the titles you wish to purchase. You can see your total in the upper left corner of the webpage.

  • Click Checkout when you have selected all the titles you wish to buy. You will be given the opportunity to review your selection.

  • Make sure your selection is correct. If you wish to remove anything from your cart, click Remove.

  • Click Checkout to proceed.

  • Enter your department's payment information. You may use up to four budget numbers. Click Continue.

  • You must choose shipping or pickup. If you are only purchasing a license, choose pickup. If you would like your items shipped, choose shipping and enter the zipcode. Once the shipping method is selected, click on Select Delivery Method.
  • For orders to be picked up, select Pickup, enter your contact information and click Continue.

  • For orders to be shipped, Fill out the missig information indicated by a "*". Be sure to check and correct your email address and phone number if applicable.

  • Review your order. If everything is correct, click Finish to be taken to the order confirmation page. Otherwise, use the links at the bottom to correct any incorrect information.

  • You will now be taken to a confirmation page. Click Submit Order to continue.

Office Location/Hours

The SPARS office is located on the Homewood Campus in Garland Hall Basement at the Technical Assistance Window(Suite 01A). Our Office hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm. The window is open until 5pm for pick-up only. The office is closed on all University holidays. On rare occasion we are also closing early for staff meetings, please call 410-516-7780 prior to pickup to verify that we will be open.
